I used WinClone to copy my original Boot Camp partition - this created a folder hierarchy which includes a "Windows.sparsebundle" folder. I have a copy of this on both an external USB disk, as well as on the local HFS+ file system on the new/target MBP. I am able to mount the sparsebundle by using "hdid" but this doesn't appear to Fusion as a "real" Boot Camp partition, so I can't use the built-in import features. I feel like I'm pretty close to getting something going - I can see my Windows file system after all - but I'm a bit stuck at the moment. WinClone isn't allowing me to recover the clone it made (I suspect a Lion compatibility issue) so I've given up on WinClone for now, as far as the recovery process goes.
